VLibrary is a patch librarian for the Roland VG-8 Guitar System.

Features

  • Patch Libraries -- VLibrary allows creation of hierarchical libraries which can contain any number of patches, organized in any way you see fit. The library is structured just like a disk drive, with patches within folders, within folders, etc. You define the structure of the library tree, including the folder names. This allows you to categorize your patches in any way you like. Since a library is a single file, distributing a library is simple. Also, since the patches are not tied to a patch number, users of your library can arrange patches in any order. There is no limit to the number of patches that can be stored in a library, and you can create as many different libraries as you want. Individual patches may be instantly auditioned on the VG-8, which means you don't have to overwrite all your User Patches just to listen to someone else's patches..
  • Patch Sets -- A Patch Set is a grouping of 64 (or less) patches, corresponding to the 64 User Patches. Patch Sets can be saved to a file, and can be sent as a set to the VG-8. You assemble Patch Sets either by reading an entire set from the VG-8 (bulk dump) or by dragging and dropping patches from Patch Libraries.
  • Import/Export -- VLibrary can import from and export to .SYX (sysex) files..

System Requirements

VLibrary requires the VG-8 S1 System upgrade, Windows 95, and a Windows compatible MIDI interface. You'll also need the latest update of comctl32.dll, which is available from Microsoft.

How do I get it?

You can get the latest version of VLibrary by clicking on the link below (you'll need PKUnzip or WinZip). After you download the zip file, unzip it into the directory of your choice (there is no installation program). Be sure to read the README.RTF file for the latest program information.
